Independent Clinician, Breakthrough ADHD Center
I’m Silvia Talamonti, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s in Experimental Psychology from the University of Florence, where I focused on neuropsychology and neuroscience. With more than 15 years of international experience across Italy, Peru, the U.S., and Canada, I bring a warm, cross-cultural lens to my work with children, teens, and families.
At Breakthrough ADHD Center, I provide counselling support to children and parents navigating emotional ups and downs, attention challenges, and the everyday complexity of growing up. I truly love working with children and helping them feel seen, safe, and confident. My sessions often blend curiosity, playfulness, and thoughtful structure—guided by a deep respect for each child’s inner world.
My therapeutic approach integrates Narrative Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Theory (with four years of post-graduate training), and polyvagal-informed care. I also draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies, always tailoring my approach to fit each family's unique strengths and needs.
Before relocating to Canada, I worked as a licensed psychologist in Italy, supporting neurodivergent children and adolescents with ADHD, dyslexia, learning differences, and emotional regulation needs. I also spent over a decade in Montessori education, where I guided children in developing focus, emotional resilience, and sensory-based learning strategies. These experiences continue to shape my belief that, with the right balance of connection and consistency, every child can thrive.
I offer counselling in English and Italian, and I’m committed to creating a steady, kind, and inclusive space where families feel empowered to grow together. I’m also currently engaged in further clinical education in neurofeedback methods, deepening my understanding of brain-based approaches to self-regulation and integration.
Meet me, Silvia Talamonti, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC #23841), fluent in English and Italian, passionate about helping children and families build confidence, emotional clarity, and lasting empowerment.
