Meet the Team at ADHD Breakthrough Center
Meet Caterina Bondesan
Caterina Bondesan, MPsy, BC RCC.
My passion for understanding the human mind began during my Bachelor's in Psychology, when I first heard the extraordinary story of a patient who, despite losing the ability to speak due to a traumatic injury, successfully rehabilitated and relearned not one, but two languages he had previously spoken. This case profoundly fascinated me and sparked my deep interest in neuroplasticity and the brain’s incredible adaptability.
Motivated by this curiosity, I pursued a Master’s in Neuropsychology, where I deepened my understanding of the brain and developed a strong interest in neurodivergence, ADHD, and invisible disabilities. Throughout my studies, I came to appreciate the deep interconnection between the body and mind, recognizing that true wellness involves nurturing both.
As a professional, I have had the privilege of working with both children and late-diagnosed adults with autism and ADHD. My approach as a BC registered clinical counsellor is person-centered and holistic, incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis, and Systemic Relational Therapy to support neurodivergent individuals, their families and caregivers.
I aim to empower people to embrace their unique traits and thrive, without viewing those traits as mere “conditions”. My goal is to promote understanding, growth, and harmony in their lives. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive space where people can fully embrace their identities, feel heard, and progress towards their goals in a way that suits their needs. My goal is to challenge societal views on neurodivergence, promoting a culture of acceptance and empowerment.
Outside of my professional role, I find joy in baking, spending time by the ocean, and exploring nature.
