Dana Jiang, CTTIC, STIBC

Certified Translator & Interpreter | Mandarin & Cantonese Language Specialist | Chinese Translation & Interpretation Specialist, Breakthrough ADHD Center.

Clear communication is not simply about translating words. It is about helping a family feel informed, respected, and truly understood, especially when the stakes are high and the information is complex.
That belief is at the core of everything I do.

I am a Certified Translator accredited by the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) and a Certified Member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC). I am also an approved translator for the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) and a graduate of Simon Fraser University's Legal Interpretation and Translation Program. Over the course of my career, I have translated a wide range of medical, educational, psychological, legal, and immigration documents — always guided by a commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.

My work at Breakthrough ADHD Center is where all of that comes together with the work I care about most: helping Chinese-speaking families access the support their neurodivergent children need and deserve.

For many families, receiving an ADHD or ASD assessment is already an emotionally charged experience. When that process unfolds in a language that is not your own, the weight of it can feel even greater. Questions go unasked. Recommendations get lost in translation, literally. Decisions feel harder to make with confidence. I am here to make sure that does not happen. I provide Mandarin and Cantonese translation and interpretation throughout the full journey, from assessment and clinical consultation through to intervention and follow-up, so that families can engage fully, ask every question, and truly understand what is being shared about their child.

Having lived in Canada for more than two decades, I understand both the Canadian healthcare and education systems and the cultural values many Chinese families bring to their decision-making. Language is only part of what I bridge. I also bridge cultural context, the expectations, the concerns, the ways families make sense of a diagnosis and weigh their options. That understanding matters deeply in neurodivergent care, where trust between families and clinicians is everything.
As a mother myself, I know what it means to want clarity when your child's future feels uncertain. I bring that personal understanding to every family I support.

My services include:

  • Mandarin and Cantonese interpretation (in-person and remote)
  • Translation of medical, psychological, and educational documents
  • Assessment report translation for ADHD and ASD evaluations
  • Interpretation during clinical consultations and team meetings
  • Educational and school-based document translation
  • Legal and immigration document translation
  • Cultural bridging and family communication support

I am proud to be part of the multidisciplinary team at Breakthrough ADHD Center, where every family, regardless of language or cultural background, receives the same quality of care, clarity, and connection. Every child deserves to have their family fully in the room.
